STUDENT ALUMNI BOARD

The Student Alumni Board (SAB) is a dedicated group of sixteen students who strive to serve the interests of SAA general members, UAFS students, and UAFS alumni. They work closely with the Alumni Affairs staff and SAA general members to provide quality events and programs to current students and alumni.

To serve on the SAA Board, you must meet minimum membership requirements.. In addition, to serve as President of the SAA Board, you must have been a member of SAA for a minimum of one (1) year and served a term as a Vice President on the SAA Board.

Complete the simple online Student Alumni Board Application. This will also serve as your application for membership if you are a new member.

SAB Position Requirements, Benefits, and Descriptions

 

 

All Presidental Level Position Requirements & Benefits

Requirements:
Fun, positive energy; UAFS Pride; Full-time student
Minimum 2.25 GPA (Don't let this discourage you! Talk to Nikki about options!)

Preferred:
Already an SAA member for atleast a semester (but not required).

Benefits:
All member benefits plus SAB swag and a $400 scholarship each Fall and Spring semester serving as a President on SAB

President

  • Chair all SAB meetings
  • Solicit and submit NUMAs nominations
  • Organize SAA's participation in Lion Launch
  • Recruit new members to SAB for each new year
  • Motivate SAB members

Past President

  • Chair SAB meetings in the absence of the current President
  • Act as an advisor and reference for the current board

 

 

All Vice President Level Position Requirements & Benefits

Requirements:
Fun, positive energy; UAFS Pride; Full-time student
Minimum 2.25 GPA (Don't let this discourage you! Talk to Nikki about options!)

Preferred:
Already an SAA member for atleast a semester (but not required).

Benefits:
All member benefits plus SAB swag and a $200 scholarship each Fall and Spring semester serving as a VP on SAB

 

Vice President of Communications

  • Document minutes for SAB meetings
  • Send out regular communications to members through newsletters and emails
  • Supervise the Social Media Chair and his/her responsibilities

Vice President of Finance

  • Solicit donations and sponsorships to advance the programming of SAA
  • Allocate and monitor the entire $20,000+ SAA budget
  • Supervise the Alumni Relations Chair and his/her responsiblities

Vice President of Membership

  • Maintain a current and up-to-date roster for SAA and SAO uses
  • Ensure the documentation of member's volunteer hours
  • Find opportunities and ways to appreciate and motivate SAA members
  • Supervise the Recruiment Chair and his/her responsibilities

Vice President of Outreach

  • Organize and execute the SAA presentation at Cub Camp
  • Organize and execute SAA's participation at Haunted Union
  • Organize and execute SAA Cares Week
  • Supervise the New Lions Chair and his/her responsibilities
  • Supervise the International Chair and his/her responsibilities

Vice President of Spirt & Traditions

  • Edit, update, design, and print the new Traditions Book
  • Organize and execute SAA's Homecoming participation
  • Supervise the Spirit Chair and his/her responsibilities
  • Supervise the Restoring the Roar Chair and his/her responsibilities

 

 

All Chair Level Requirements Position Requirements & Benefits

Alumni Relations Chair

  • Coordinate with the Assistant Director of Alumni Affairs to coordinate SAA volunteers and participation in UAFS Alumni events
  • A completely new position and programming idea, this chair has a lot of opportunity for development and interaction with Alumni

International Chair

  • Coordinate with International Relations to begin communicating and connecting with international students before arrival
  • Organize SAA's participation in the International Relations office move-in efforts
  • Organize a special meal/event for International Students and SAA in either the fall/spring
  • Organize SAA's participation in an International Tea party in the Spring semester

New Lions Chair

  • Design, organize, market, and execute the Freshman Button Challege.

Recruitment Chair

  • Organize SAAs participation in Orientation, the Block Party, and other early semester recruitment opportunites for the Fall and Spring (and Summer Orientation sessions)

Restoring the Roar Chair

  • Design, plan, and solicit sponsors for the Restoring the Roar t-shirts each spring
  • Organize and execute handing out the t-shirts all year

Spirit Chair

  • Coordinate and execute the stamping opportunities in coordination with the Traditions Book
  • Plan and execute the annual Numa's Birthday Bash each spring

Social Media Chair

  • Post at regularly determined intervals on all SAA social media platforms. This position is able to use the Hootsuite as often as possible.
    • Daily Facebook posts, 2-3 daily twitter posts, 3 times a week to instagram, and 1 post weekly to Vine (subject to change)

Volunteer & Appreciation Banquet Chair

  • Document & calculate the participation hours of general and board members
  • Plan and execute the Appreciation Banquet each spring
